Roots 4 is a nature-focused magic mod built around farming, crops, animal husbandry, and recovering the remnants of an older wild magic. Players gather wildroot beneath trees and underground, find hanging grove moss on trees, and use these renewable materials to make magical equipment and prepare spell ingredients with a mortar and pestle. A pyre lets players perform rituals, including Animal Harvest, which generates drops from eligible creatures without harming them, and Overgrowth, which creates harvestable grove moss. After activating a grove stone through the Grove Supplication ritual, players can use a grove crafter to make runestone and other items by arranging ingredients on pedestals; the crafter can send finished results to nearby containers. The staff is the main way to cast spells: its library holds five spell slots, and crafting certain mortar-and-pestle recipes teaches spells that can be placed in those slots. The spell collection includes crop-growing and harvesting magic, as well as effects for combat and exploration, such as Shatter, which can be adjusted to change the area of blocks it destroys. Players can befriend animals including deer, beetles, owls, and sentient plant creatures called sprouts; sprouts can be bred with aubergine and give gifts when they have offspring. The world can also feature barrows, huts with randomized basements, and standing stones whose buried chests contain seeds and plants. Elemental crops reward suitable growing conditions with larger harvests: they produce the most on matching elemental soil, while dewgonia needs to be waterlogged on ordinary farmland. Most content is designed to be configurable through data maps, recipes, or data-pack tags.

No harmful code found
We checked its files and read their code, without running it.
Why we show this: a mod runs on your computer like any program, so harmful code in it can take your accounts or files. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade, and a Warning in a latest file for a recent Minecraft version lowers it.
We found nothing it sends
We read its code without running it: it contacts no web address while you play.
Why we show this: a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign that AI was used to make it
We looked for AI tools in its texts, files, images, sounds and code history and found none.
No sign of AI in the game
We found no AI service, AI library or AI model file in its code.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
