About
YUNG's Better Caves overhauls underground world generation, keeping caves modest near the surface while making exploration more dramatic at depth. Its generated terrain includes winding tunnels, larger caverns, underground lakes and rivers, lava-filled regions, and flooded caves and ravines, including in ocean biomes. Surface caves are designed to blend more naturally into the landscape, so mountains are less likely to appear riddled with holes. You can tune cave and cavern shapes, sizes, altitudes, and frequency, and set different generation options for individual dimensions such as the Nether. For newer world-generation setups, its configurable layers divide the underground into regions and select among defined carvers, allowing users to shape how often different cave forms appear. Official presets offer a more vanilla-like style, with options that add flooded caves and ravines or include toned-down caverns.
