A medieval fantasy world with magic, quests, and challenging bosses.
Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 163 graded mods, 130 are graded A or B, 27 C and 6 D to F. Its last update came out 8 weeks ago, for Minecraft 1.20.1. See the mods
Better Fantasy is a medium-sized modpack for a vanilla-plus medieval fantasy adventure, bringing together selected mods to offer a range of fantasy gameplay without overwhelming players. Players can choose a fantasy origin for a distinct gameplay experience, explore the Aether and the Otherside, and travel through reworked Overworld and Nether biomes shaped by Mystic’s Biomes, Tectonic, Geophilic, and Luminous Nether. The End is overhauled with Stellarity and End Remastered, alongside new creatures and mounts from Naturalist, Mythic Mounts, and Dragon Mounts Legacy. RPG elements include Auto Leveling, while Immersive Armor and TrimEffects add armor options and effects. Iron’s Spells ’n Spellbooks provides the magic mechanics, and the pack adds challenging bosses, dungeons, and structures through mods including Bosses of Mass Destruction, Dungeon Now Loading, and When Dungeons Arise: Seven Seas. More than 100 quests guide exploration and award coins that players can spend in the quest shop. Sophisticated Backpacks and bonfires provide quality-of-life features, and optional shaders are offered with performance in mind.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.20.1 · Forge, 2 Sep 2026). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
1 file not listed: no matching project found.
Compared with the release of 29 Mar 2026 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. We do not compare the versions of the projects yet.
No harmful code found in the projects we checked
We checked 162 of its 165 projects, without running them.
We have not checked the files in the pack itself yet (settings, scripts).
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
8 mods send something about you
We read the code of 158 of its 161 mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI used in 12 of the 137 mods we checked
We found an AI tool in them, or their authors declared AI content.
24 mods are not checked yet.
Made with AI: not checked yet
We have not looked for AI tools in the pack itself yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
