A modpack aiming to bring anxiety and dread to the peaceful landscape of Minecraft.
Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 97 graded mods, 41 are graded A or B, 23 C and 33 D to F. Its last update came out 3.6 years ago, for Minecraft 1.12.2. See the mods
Horror Craft reshapes Minecraft into a survival horror experience, contrasting relatively peaceful days with nights, caves, and other places where darkness and danger make exploration tense. Blood moons, pitch-black nights and caves, and torches that gradually go out leave players vulnerable to deadly creatures and unsettling sounds, including echoing screams from the darkness. A plague or parasite threatens to consume the world, while demonic creatures may roam the woods; quests offer guidance on getting started and goals to pursue. The pack adds multiple dimensions, changing seasons, and a sanity level alongside improved creature AI, with zombies drawn to blood, sound, and light. Its roster includes horror-themed threats such as parasites from Scape and Run: Parasites, SCP creatures, Weeping Angels, Eyes in the Darkness, and monsters from CreepyPastaCraft Reborn and Horror Movie Monsters.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.12.2 · Forge, 15 Mar 2023). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
Compared with the release of 6 Mar 2022 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. We do not compare the versions of the mods yet.
No harmful code found in the projects we checked
We checked 99 of its 100 projects and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI used in 4 of the 56 mods we checked
We found an AI tool in them, or their authors declared AI content.
43 mods are not checked yet.
No sign so far that AI was used to make the pack itself
We looked for AI tools in its texts and found none.
We have not read its files and images yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
