Fireflies and glowing particles bring extra life to dark places.

Illuminations is a client-side ambience mod that adds glowing particles to make nights and dark places feel more atmospheric. At night, fireflies appear in different quantities across biomes, while glowworms cling to cave ceilings and drop when their supporting block is removed. In dark ocean depths, tiny glowing plankton float through any ocean biome, and glowing prismarine crystals gather around sea lanterns, becoming more numerous in darker areas. Near Chorus flowers, white petals twirl down and shift to purple as they drift, with younger flowers producing more petals and broken flowers releasing a burst. October brings orange-tinted fireflies and glowing eyes that vanish when approached or exposed to light; the eyes can also be configured to appear year-round or not at all. A spawn-density setting adjusts the amount of ambient effects, and the mod also offers player cosmetics, including colored firefly trails, floating ghosts, crowns, and overhead decorations that other users can see when they have Illuminations installed. Illuminations works on the client when connecting to vanilla servers, and its ambient effects are integrated into Effective; the project is discontinued following that merger.

No harmful code found
It has no file for a recent Minecraft version. This is about its files for Minecraft 1.12 to 1.19.2.
We checked its files and read their code, without running it.
Why we show this: a mod runs on your computer like any program, so harmful code in it can take your accounts or files. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade, and a Warning in a latest file for a recent Minecraft version lowers it.
We found nothing it sends about you
It has no file for a recent Minecraft version. This is about its files for Minecraft 1.12 to 1.19.2.
We read its code without running it: it contacts 5 web addresses while you play.
Like any connection, each address it contacts sees your IP address.
Why we show this: a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign so far that AI was used to make it
We looked for AI tools in its description, files, images and code history and found none.
We have not read its changelogs yet.
No sign of AI in the game
We found no AI service, AI library or AI model file in its code.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
