A horror survival pack where a helpful companion turns sinister.
Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 25 graded mods, 20 are graded A or B, 4 C and 1 D to F. Its last update came out 3 months ago, for Minecraft 1.20.1. See the mods
Something is knocking... is a curated horror-survival modpack built around Verity, adding atmosphere and performance-focused mods to support its unsettling companion experience. Verity begins as a helpful yellow companion offering tips, conversation, and reassurance, then becomes increasingly untrustworthy over successive in-game days. As survival continues, escalating events, sounds, and anomalies build tension, while lighting, audio, and shader changes deepen the dread as the world darkens. The horror unfolds on a vanilla-plus survival foundation, with performance and quality-of-life additions intended to keep play smooth and immersive.
Written from Modrinth . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.20.1 · Forge, 18 Jul 2026). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
No harmful code found in its projects
We checked all 25 projects and the files in the pack itself.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign so far that AI was used to make the pack itself
We looked for AI tools in its texts and found none.
We have not read its files and images yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
