A fantasy adventure with new spells, weapons, and dungeons.
Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 153 graded mods, 129 are graded A or B, 21 C and 3 D to F. Its last update came out 2.7 years ago, for Minecraft 1.20.1. See the mods
Spells, Swords, And Dungeons is a Forge modpack focused on overhauling magic, combat, and exploration, with a more technical and challenging approach than its Fabric counterpart. Players can learn spells from a special table, including fire and freezing magic, and use dodges and a range of weapons to make combat more tactical. Exploration adds magical forests and secret dungeons containing hidden treasures. The Forge and Fabric packs have different quests but share a storyline; the Forge pack is currently described as a kitchensink experience. The pack supports playing with friends and lets players add or remove mods to tailor the experience.
Written from Modrinth . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.20.1 · Forge, 28 Jan 2024). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
Compared with the release of 25 Jan 2024 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. We do not compare the versions of the mods yet.
No harmful code found in its mods
We checked all 158 mods and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
6 mods send something about you
We read the code of all 158 of its mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI used in 11 of the 158 mods we checked
We found an AI tool in them, or their authors declared AI content.
No sign so far that AI was used to make the pack itself
We looked for AI tools in its texts and found none.
We have not read its files and images yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
