Alshanex’s Familiars expands Iron’s Spells ’n Spellbooks with tameable magical companions that appear throughout the world and fight alongside their owners. The familiars cover distinct roles: Lightning Mages attack multiple targets and charge their owner, Archmages transform spell scrolls and counter shulker bullets, Necromancers turn nearby undead against one another, Summoners provide night vision and disable sculk shriekers, and Hunters use arrows and track creatures by the items they drop. Other companions include Druids that nurture crops and breed animals, Illusionists that hide their owner and leave explosive decoys, Plague Doctors that use poison, Scorchers with fire immunity, Clerics that support allies and cure zombie villagers, Bards with musical attacks and support, Frostlings with ice abilities, and Dragoons that fight in melee and protect allied familiars. Their discovery is tied to distinct places and encounters: find Lightning Mages in mountains, Archmages in End laboratories, Necromancers in Soul Sand Valley graveyards, Summoners in Ancient Cities, Hunters at forest campsites, Scorchers in the Nether, Frostlings in icy biomes, and Dragoons on the outer End islands; Illusionists disguise themselves as other familiars. Some companions instead require special interactions to obtain: give a Poison Vial to a tamed Druid for a Plague Doctor, cast Cleanse near an untamed Necromancer for a Cleric, or cast a sound spell with the Harp near an untamed familiar for a Bard. The Origin Island provides a longer exploration and summoning progression: Sniffers can find Crystal Berries, which prompt tamed familiars to produce Memory Fragments that lead to the island, where bottled Lost Souls and pedestal rituals are part of conjuring familiars. The island and familiar habitats are complemented by Hunters’ Campsites, Soul Sand Valley Graveyards, Summoners’ Labs in Ancient Cities, and Archmages’ settlements in the End. Tamed familiars can be ordered to stay with a stick, summoned or unsummoned from a selection menu, transported in Familiar Tomes, and healed in Familiar Beds; Familiar Storage can hold up to ten companions, with options to move them between storage and the player or let them wander nearby. Familiar Trinkets strengthen particular companions, while consumables can improve their health, armor, spell power, or resistance; the Shrinkinator also turns food and other items into familiar-sized supplies and supports hopper automation. The addon also adds a Sound School with a Harp staff, a Symphonic Grimoire, and spells ranging from damaging melodies and stuns to healing, protection, and other effects that support allies.
Written from Modrinth and CurseForge . How we write it
Changes the game's code in 1 area: Mobs and their behaviorChanges 5 game code files in this area: mobs, animals, villagers, projectiles and how they move and act..
Adds:
Counted from the files of the mod. Content made only in its code is not counted.
Keeps all of vanilla Minecraft's textures, models and sounds.
No harmful code found
We checked its files and read their code, without running it.
Why we show this: a mod runs on your computer like any program, so harmful code in it can take your accounts or files. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade, and a Warning in a latest file for a recent Minecraft version lowers it.
We found nothing it sends
We read its code without running it: it contacts no web address while you play.
Why we show this: a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign that AI was used to make it
We looked for AI tools in its texts, files, images, sounds and code history and found none.
No sign of AI in the game
We found no AI service, AI library or AI model file in its code.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.

The newest file for each Minecraft version and loader. The files for recent versions come first. Recent versions: those released in the last 2 years, plus 1.20.1 and 1.21.1, among the most played in modpacks.
In the last 2 years, 9 releases needed a quick fix: a new release within 3 days to fix a problem. This lowers the grade by 4 points.
