Embers Text API is a library mod for creating animated, styled text in Minecraft, either as inline markup on existing text or as independent popups on the HUD. Its visual effects include rainbow and gradient colors, glitch distortion, waves, shaking, pulsing, outlines, and neon glows, which can be layered or applied character by character; typewriter reveals, obfuscation reveals, scrolling marquees, and whole-message motion such as slamming, shattering, sliding, and spinning add animation options. HUD messages can be positioned with anchors and offsets, scaled, given backgrounds, faded in and out, and played sequentially in named queues or simultaneously at different screen positions. Inline markup can style text in item names and tooltips, lore, signs, chat, and books, and can place item icons or entity models within text. The API renders TrueType and OpenType fonts with MSDF for crisp text at different scales, and includes Norse, Metamorphous, Cinzel, Almendra, and Cardo fonts. Commands let users send and queue messages or preview built-in effects, while developers can send styled messages from Java, register custom effects, parse markup, or build text spans programmatically. It also works with KubeJS and datapacks, giving pack makers ways to use animated text in quest descriptions, tips, and boss introductions; the mod provides these text tools rather than adding gameplay content on its own.
Written from Modrinth and CurseForge . How we write it
Changes the game's code in 3 areas, as a library other mods build on: User interfaceChanges 9 game code files in this area: menus, screens, tooltips, the chat window and the in-game overlay., Rendering and graphicsChanges 3 game code files in this area: drawing mobs, items, particles and textures on screen. and Inventory and itemsChanges 2 game code files in this area: items, chests and other containers, crafting and enchanting..
Adds no new blocks, items or other content.
Keeps all of vanilla Minecraft's textures, models and sounds.
No harmful code found
We checked its files and read their code, without running it.
Why we show this: a mod runs on your computer like any program, so harmful code in it can take your accounts or files. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade, and a Warning in a latest file for a recent Minecraft version lowers it.
We found nothing it sends
We read its code without running it: it contacts no web address while you play.
Why we show this: a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI was used for its code and text
The author declares AI code and text on Modrinth.
We looked for AI tools in its texts, files and images and found none.
No sign of AI in the game
We found no AI service, AI library or AI model file in its code.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.

In the last 2 years, 11 releases needed a quick fix: a new release within 3 days to fix a problem. This lowers the grade by 5 points.
