    Item Descriptions provides concise in-game explanations of what blocks, items, entities, enchantments, and effects are for, helping players understand them without needing to consult a separate reference. Descriptions are included for vanilla content, with generic tag-based descriptions covering applicable items when no more specific entry exists; descriptions for modded content can be supplied through resource packs or the companion Mod Descriptions pack. Hold Ctrl while hovering over an item to reveal its description, and, with Jade or WTHIT installed, see block and entity descriptions in their informational HUDs. The mod also describes vanilla enchantments and can display enchantment descriptions in enchanting tables, while compatible integrations can surface descriptions in places such as recipe viewers and informational HUDs. Modpack creators can add or override descriptions for custom blocks, items, entities, and tags using resource-pack translations.
