    About

    Knight Lib is a cross-loader utility library for mod developers, providing shared implementations of systems that mods commonly build themselves rather than adding a standalone gameplay experience. Its networking tools provide separate client-to-server and server-to-client packet channels for each mod, while a common event bus and registration helpers abstract loader-specific calls and registering blocks, items, entities, and other features. Developers can use its TOML configuration system to generate in-game settings screens, with hot reloading and compatibility with Configured and Fabric’s Mod Menu. For entity behavior and presentation, the library includes a finite-state-machine AI system, dynamic hitboxes linked to animated model bones, configurable camera shake and custom boss bars, as well as looping entity music and persistent sounds tied to entities, items, or blocks. It also provides an animation and rendering engine that extends the vanilla pipeline and supports easing functions, Molang, and Bedrock-style geometry, plus utilities for post-processing shaders, including experimental multi-target passes. Additional APIs help register entity spawns by biome, modify entity and chest loot tables, and access or synchronize persistent entity data. A cutscene editor can export Java code for use in mods, though the editor is available only in development mode. The library has a small amount of optional content, but it is disabled by default and must be enabled by a mod that uses it.
