About
MoreMcmeta is a client-side mod that gives resource-pack authors a way to configure texture effects through familiar OptiFine properties files or JSON metadata, without requiring OptiFine. Its animation support extends beyond vanilla block and item textures to mobs and other entities, armor, the sun and moon, GUI and map backgrounds, miscellaneous textures such as enchantment glint and shadows, paintings, particles, status-effect icons, and pack icons. Authors can use .moremcmeta files to define animations for these textures, with options such as synchronizing animation timing to the time of day, smoothing transitions between frames with different transparency, and setting blur or clamp behavior. The mod also provides a client-side texture configuration API that lets developers create plugins for additional metadata formats and texturing effects; emissive overlays are available through a separate plugin.
