About
Starlight x Create replaces Minecraft’s vanilla lighting engine with a full rewrite designed to reduce lighting-related performance costs and fix lighting errors. It is intended to improve chunk generation and reduce lighting-related lag spikes, particularly on large builds, rather than to boost client FPS generally. This release provides the lighting rewrite for Forge 1.16.5 modpacks that use Create, with a compatibility patch enabling Create support. Starlight can run on either the client or the server without needing to be installed on both, and its presence on either side remains compatible with vanilla peers.
