    About

    Traveler's Backpack adds customizable, upgradeable backpacks that expand portable storage and can be worn on the player's back, opened in hand, or placed in the world for access through hoppers and pipes. Backpacks progress through Leather, Iron, Gold, Diamond, and Netherite tiers, with each tier offering configurable storage, upgrade, and tool slots. Eleven functionality upgrades include fluid tanks, a crafting grid, feeding, magnets, item pickup, void handling, and a furnace; the hose lets players collect, transfer, spill, or drink fluids from the tanks. Tool slots hold handy equipment that players can select through a radial menu, while sorting, quick-stack, and transfer controls help organize items between backpack and inventory. Slot rules can protect chosen items from sorting and automation, or reserve a slot for a memorized item so it is preferentially routed there. The backpack also supports a sleeping bag for resting without changing the player's spawn point, and many custom designs have distinct abilities: for example, the Bookshelf Backpack boosts nearby enchanting tables, the Sponge Backpack collects water into its tanks, and the Lapis Backpack may double incoming experience. Players can choose from more than 45 creature- and block-inspired designs, or dye a standard backpack to create a personal color. Configuration can adjust slot counts, enable or disable upgrades and abilities, and control compatibility with back-slot equipment systems; Fabric integrations include Trinkets, recipe viewers such as JEI, REI, and EMI, and grave mods that preserve backpacks on death.
