Vanilla Refresh is a configurable quality-of-life expansion that adds small gameplay, immersion, creative-mode, and multiplayer improvements while aiming to preserve Minecraft’s vanilla feel. Everyday additions include sitting anywhere, a day counter with animated milestone announcements, mob health readouts, returning experience orbs, crafting sounds and particles, and a chance to gain experience from harvesting crops. It also adds practical survival interactions: tridents return from the void, a totem can help a player float back to land after a void fall, ladders can be extended downward from a drop, and recovery compasses show death coordinates and dimension. Visual and sound touches include new animations for players and blocks such as enchanting tables, brewing stands, beacons, dragon eggs, and jukeboxes, plus event and biome-discovery titles, configurable death sounds, and a heartbeat cue at low health. Armor stands gain extra poses and arms, can change pose with a nearby lever, and can be turned into wall-mounted tool racks; invisibility potions and splash water bottles can hide or reveal stands and item frames. Other world details include trimmed armor on some piglins, speed when sprinting on paths, readable clocks, silent mobs made with echo shards, and fireworks that make cakes burst with confetti when eaten. For creative use, operators can access wands for moving, freezing, and posing mobs, as well as item sets for quickly obtaining building materials and equipment; spectator mode also offers extra navigation and visibility actions. Multiplayer tools include tracked player statistics that can be shown in the tab list or below names, join and exit sounds, a player list with online and lifetime join counts, and a command to inspect server-configured gamerules and features. Many features can be toggled in an in-game settings menu, and some less vanilla-fitting options are disabled by default, including death recovery through collectible Soul Links and renewable dragon eggs.
Written from Modrinth . How we write it
Does not change the game's code directly.
Adds 222 advancements and 36 loot tables.
Counted from the names and data files in the mod, so the list may not be complete.
Keeps all of vanilla Minecraft's textures, models and sounds.
No harmful code found
We checked its files and read their code, without running it.
Why we show this: a mod runs on your computer like any program, so harmful code in it can take your accounts or files. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade, and a Warning in a latest file for a recent Minecraft version lowers it.
We found nothing it sends
We read its code without running it: it contacts no web address while you play.
Why we show this: a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign that AI was used to make it
We looked for AI tools in its texts, files, images and code history and found none.
No sign of AI in the game
We found no AI service, AI library or AI model file in its code.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
