The Wither Storm’s Devastation is a survival-challenge modpack built around surviving and defeating the Wither Storm, while gathering materials, hiding, and gearing up as the threat escalates. The Storm evolves by absorbing its surroundings, tracks and sometimes pursues the nearest player, remains active even when no player is nearby, and can tear up clusters of blocks such as trees and villager houses while consuming mobs. To help players prepare, the pack includes Ars Nouveau for custom spell crafting, magical trinkets and machines, and base automation, alongside Farmer’s Delight additions that expand food and cooking ingredients and Sophisticated Backpacks for increased carrying capacity and backpack upgrades. Other described features include the Formidibomb, boss battles, new tools and weapons, and Wither Sickness; the gallery also shows a final boss room, a Wither Tower spawner in the ocean, and the Storm’s Destroyer Phase. Deeper and Darker adds the Otherside dimension as an escape option, with three biomes and content including sculk stone, gloomslate, warden tools, and warden armor.
Written from Modrinth and CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.20.1 · Forge, 24 Mar 2025). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
1 file not listed: no matching project found.
Compared with the release of 15 Dec 2024 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. We do not compare the versions of the projects yet.
No harmful code found in its projects
We checked all 258 projects and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
9 mods send something about you
We read the code of 250 of its 251 mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI used in 28 of the 251 mods we checked
We found an AI tool in them, or their authors declared AI content.
No sign so far that AI was used to make the pack itself
We looked for AI tools in its texts and found none.
We have not read its files and images yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
