VillagerConfig is a Fabric mod for customizing villagers and wandering traders, with a focus on defining and adjusting their trades through datapacks. Datapacks can replace or create trades for professions such as farmers, librarians, masons, and toolsmiths, as well as for wandering traders; for example, a farmer trade can exchange glow berries for iron ingots. Trade data organizes options into experience-unlocked tiers and groups, letting creators set how many trades are selected and define each trade’s costs, result, availability conditions, uses, and experience rewards. Additional trade rules can use demand-based pricing, custom number calculations, reference values, and loot functions that randomly enchant items or set their dye colors. The mod also offers configurable villager behavior, including trade discounts, whether unused trades cycle when a workstation is replaced, the chance of conversion to a zombie villager, and whether trades require restocking. An online graphical generator helps creators build datapacks with editable trades, presets based on vanilla professions, a trade preview, and downloadable datapack output; the trades can also be authored manually. Testing commands can open randomly generated trade menus for a chosen villager profession and level or for a wandering trader, making it easier to check custom trade data.
Written from Modrinth , CurseForge and the GitHub README . How we write it
Changes the game's code in 4 areas, as a library other mods build on: Mobs and their behaviorChanges 4 game code files in this area: mobs, animals, villagers, projectiles and how they move and act., Inventory and itemsChanges 3 game code files in this area: items, chests and other containers, crafting and enchanting., Game data and resourcesChanges 3 game code files in this area: recipes, tags, advancements, language files and other game data. and User interfaceChanges 1 game code file in this area: menus, screens, tooltips, the chat window and the in-game overlay..
Libraries packed inside it change 44 more game code files: parts of
Fabric API.
Adds no new blocks, items or other content.
Keeps all of vanilla Minecraft's textures, models and sounds.
No harmful code found
We checked its files and read their code, without running it.
Why we show this: a mod runs on your computer like any program, so harmful code in it can take your accounts or files. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade, and a Warning in a latest file for a recent Minecraft version lowers it.
We found nothing it sends
We read its code without running it: it contacts no web address while you play.
Why we show this: a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign that AI was used to make it
We looked for AI tools in its texts, files, images and code history and found none.
No sign of AI in the game
We found no AI service, AI library or AI model file in its code.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
