Epoch Runner is a progression-focused modpack that takes players through four technological ages, from the Industrial Revolution to the Interstellar Age. A questbook with more than 500 quests guides advancement through the ages, with completing each age’s main quest paths unlocking items and resources for the next. The Industrial Revolution centers on engineering, petroleum, railways, and Astral Sorcery; later ages build through nuclear technology and military equipment, space travel and modern technology, then advanced automation, energy networks, and Draconic Evolution. Exploration includes dozens of Biomes O’ Plenty biomes and more than 100 randomly generated structures, from woodland cottages to armed aircraft carriers; some structures conceal spawners and loot, and some biomes have dangerous radiation. Survival also calls for balancing food across five nutrients, staying hydrated, and managing temperature as seasons bring changing conditions, while severe weather and pollution can damage the environment. Periodic mob invasions threaten homes, and occasional Bloodmoons prevent sleep and sharply increase mob spawns, making defenses such as turrets and shield generators useful. The pack’s industrial systems include custom fuels and gas-processing chains, with multiblock machinery for tasks such as producing heavy water, processing gases, and combining or improving chemical and nuclear processing.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.12.2 · Forge, 20 Jan 2024). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
1 file not listed: no matching project found.
Compared with the release of 11 Nov 2023 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. We do not compare the versions of the mods yet.
No harmful code found in the mods we checked
We checked 194 of its 195 mods and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
1 mod sends something about you
We read the code of 193 of its 195 mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI used in 4 of the 115 mods we checked
We found an AI tool in them, or their authors declared AI content.
80 mods are not checked yet.
No sign so far that AI was used to make the pack itself
We looked for AI tools in its texts and found none.
We have not read its files and images yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
