FTB Arcanum Institute is a lore-driven magic and adventure modpack that casts the player as a new student at an academy built on the remnants of an ancient conflict over magic. Its custom world features a handcrafted campus, elemental houses and dorms, classes in Earth, Air, Fire and Water magic, and interactive teachers and goblins who trade, sell, and teach. Hundreds of interdependent quests guide students through the academy’s mysteries, forgotten relics, and threats from evil spirits and monsters. Graduation centers on mastering six magical mods: Botania, Blood Magic, Occultism, Ars Nouveau, Malum, and Evilcraft; completing their codexes reveals the location of the Celestial Colosseum. The pack also includes a Gaia Spirit Battle Arena, randomly generated dungeons in four themes with a boss for each, and a custom final boss with more than 20 attacks in the Celestial Colosseum.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.18.2 · Forge, 29 Aug 2024). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
No harmful code found in its projects
We checked all 158 projects and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
10 mods send something about you
We read the code of 156 of its 157 mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI used in 16 of the 123 mods we checked
We found an AI tool in them, or their authors declared AI content.
34 mods are not checked yet.
No sign so far that AI was used to make the pack itself
We looked for AI tools in its texts and found none.
We have not read its files and images yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
