Explore, conquer and industrialise the liminal backrooms with tech and magic.
Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 147 graded mods, 115 are graded A or B, 28 C and 4 D to F. Its last update came out 10 months ago, for Minecraft 1.20.1. See the mods
Liminal Industries is a technology-and-magic modpack about building an automated factory to help you escape the ever-changing backrooms. Explore the liminal environment, salvage forgotten furniture for automation, and develop your factory through a custom, multi-chapter tech tree, using custom mechanics and multiblocks to solve problems and push your creations toward an escape to the overworld. The pack also features a train network for transporting resources, magic for summoning creatures from beyond the backrooms, and customised sculked mobs that guard valuable resources. Its shifting spaces include community-created rooms such as flooded halls, offices, a skate park, a museum, a bookstore, a hotel junction, and a ruined smeltery. Additional activities and tools include crafting fake wallpaper blocks, scrapping objects for materials, riding escalators, and playing chess in the backrooms.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.20.1 · Forge, 30 Dec 2025). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
Compared with the release of 28 Dec 2025 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. We do not compare the versions of the mods yet.
No harmful code found in the projects we checked
We checked 147 of its 148 projects and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
2 mods send something about you
We read the code of 145 of its 146 mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI used in 1 of the 127 mods we checked
We found an AI tool in it, or its author declared AI content.
9 other mods show AI use only from after this release (30 Dec 2025), so it does not apply to the versions in this pack.
19 mods are not checked yet.
No sign so far that AI was used to make the pack itself
We looked for AI tools in its description and code history and found none.
We have not read its changelogs, files and images yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
