Odyssey: Space A New Beginning is a story-driven modpack about surviving an alien-world crash, building a spacecraft, finding your crewmates, and returning to the Overworld. Your first challenge is to survive the Blue Skies dimensions Everdawn and Everbright, then use Resourceful Bees and Mystical Agriculture to turn alien materials into useful resources. Futurepack’s Neon Energy opens up monorails, drones, and spaceflight, while storage and machinery from Sophisticated Backpacks, RFTools, Applied Energistics, and Mekanism help keep your ship and operations running. For broader automation, the pack includes Integrated Dynamics and its addons; progression also brings infusion-crafted armor, swords, greatswords, rifles, pistols, and other weapons, plus powerful staves crafted by developing runation skills. Exploration spans 22 planets and brings over 30 bosses, along with countless other mobs to encounter. You can outfit your spacecraft as a portable home with turret guns, forcefields, and doors that can be set to open only for you. A completed FTB quest book provides structured guidance through the journey.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.16.5 · Forge, 1 Jul 2022). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
Compared with the release of 29 Jun 2022 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. Same mods in both. We do not compare the versions of the mods yet.
No harmful code found in the projects we checked
We checked 135 of its 136 projects and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
4 mods send something about you
We read the code of 134 of its 135 mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI used in 16 of the 105 mods we checked
We found an AI tool in them, or their authors declared AI content.
30 mods are not checked yet.
No sign so far that AI was used to make the pack itself
We looked for AI tools in its texts and found none.
We have not read its files and images yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
