A deep ocean full of monstrous creatures and lurking terrors.
Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 38 graded mods, 25 are graded A or B, 11 C and 2 D to F. Its last update came out 5 months ago, for Minecraft 1.20.1. See the mods
Thalassophobia is a horror-focused modpack that turns Minecraft’s oceans into a source of dread, with monstrous sea creatures lurking in the depths. Its threats also include The Man From The Fog and From The Fog, so danger can follow players beyond the water and make islands feel less like safe refuge. The pack combines expanded ocean content with quality-of-life and vanilla-experience improvements, and SecurityCraft gives players tools to defend themselves against stalking creatures. Water-physics enhancements and shader options are available separately rather than included in the pack.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.20.1 · Forge, 24 May 2026). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
Compared with the release of 19 May 2026 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. Same mods in both. We do not compare the versions of the mods yet.
No harmful code found in the projects we checked
We checked all 39 projects, without running them.
We have not checked the files in the pack itself yet (settings, scripts).
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
Its mods send nothing about you
We read the code of all 37 of its mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign that AI was used to make its mods
We found no AI use from before this release (24 May 2026) in the 31 mods we checked.
1 mod shows AI use only from after it, so it does not apply to the versions in this pack.
6 mods are not checked yet.
Made with AI: not checked yet
We have not looked for AI tools in the pack itself yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
