Tame a dragon and rebuild kingdoms in a frozen world.
Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 188 graded mods, 145 are graded A or B, 24 C and 19 D to F. Its last update came out 16 months ago, for Minecraft 1.16.5. See the mods
Winter is Here is a survival-focused modpack set in a realm trapped in perpetual winter, where blizzards keep visibility extremely low, snow accumulates, and hostile mobs remain active on the surface even during the day. Its central goal is to reunite shattered kingdoms under one banner and find and tame a dragon powerful enough to help restore the land. Survival means finding shelter from the storms, whether by building an igloo fortress, digging an underground refuge, or using portals to reach warmer realms or other dimensions. The pack combines dragon-focused content from Dragon Mounts Legacy and Ice & Fire with winter-themed features such as snow beneath trees, crop growth affected by ice, and snowballs that freeze mobs. Beyond the winter survival challenge, its content includes MineColonies for settlement building, dungeon exploration, and substantial magic and technology options such as Ars Nouveau, Occultism, Create, Mekanism, and Refined Storage.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.16.5 · Forge, 1 Jul 2025). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
1 file not listed: no matching project found.
Compared with the release of 2 Jan 2025 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. Same mods in both. We do not compare the versions of the mods yet.
No harmful code found in its mods
We checked all 193 mods and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
3 mods send something about you
We read the code of all 193 of its mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI used in 11 of the 157 mods we checked
We found an AI tool in them, or their authors declared AI content.
36 mods are not checked yet.
No sign so far that AI was used to make the pack itself
We looked for AI tools in its texts and found none.
We have not read its files and images yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
