Inventory Sorter is a lightweight mod for quickly organizing player and container inventories, including inventories added by other mods. Sorting runs server-side, so players can use it on multiplayer servers with vanilla clients, as well as in single-player worlds. Players can trigger sorting by double-clicking an empty slot or using commands; installing the optional client mod adds a sort button, keybinds, and in-game configuration menus. Items can be sorted by display name, grouped by category such as tools, food, and blocks, grouped by originating mod, or ordered by item ID, with names used to break ties. Configuration lets players choose which inventories to sort and adjust sorting behavior, while server operators can block sorting or hide buttons for specific container screens. When bundle sorting is enabled, matching loose items can be placed into existing bundles, including bundles in the hotbar or compatible Trinkets slots when sorting the player inventory.
Written from Modrinth and the GitHub README . How we write it
Changes the game's code in 3 areas: User interfaceChanges 2 game code files in this area: menus, screens, tooltips, the chat window and the in-game overlay., Inventory and itemsChanges 1 game code file in this area: items, chests and other containers, crafting and enchanting. and PlayerChanges 1 game code file in this area: your character: movement, abilities, hunger and controls..
Libraries packed inside it change 15 more game code files: Packet Tweaker, Server Translations API and Kyrpt Config.
Adds 62 key bindings.
Counted from the names and data files in the mod, so the list may not be complete.
Keeps all of vanilla Minecraft's textures, models and sounds.
No harmful code found
We checked its files and read their code, without running it.
Why we show this: a mod runs on your computer like any program, so harmful code in it can take your accounts or files. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade, and a Warning in a latest file for a recent Minecraft version lowers it.
We found nothing it sends about you
We read its code without running it: it contacts 3 web addresses while you play.
Like any connection, each address it contacts sees your IP address.
Why we show this: a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI was used for its code
The author declares AI code on Modrinth.
GitHub Copilot is named in the files of its repository.
No sign of AI in the game
We found no AI service, AI library or AI model file in its code.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
.github/instructions/translation-review.instructions.mdPossible signThe tool was seen around the project. This does not show that it was used to make the files you download.: A AI instructions file (AGENTS.md) file AGENTS.mdPoint at or tap a version to see its loaders.
These projects do not work together with Inventory Sorting: their authors or Inventory Sorting's author say so. If you install both, the game can crash or some features can stop working. Some of them do the same job as Inventory Sorting, so you only need one.

Fewer modpacks put it in their new versions than a year ago: 43 a month now, 80 a year agoThe average of the last 6 months, compared with the same 6 months a year before. We say it only when the change is large..
3,168 modpacks include Inventory Sorting in at least one of their versions. Here are the 30 most downloaded.

In the last 2 years, 8 releases needed a quick fix: a new release within 3 days to fix a problem. This lowers the grade by 4 points.
