Unified API is a cross-loader development and data library designed to streamline building mods for Fabric and NeoForge, while also exposing mod features to datapack and resource-pack creators. For mod developers, it provides shared registries, helpers, events, and code-generation tools that centralize block, item, and entity registration, with behavior configured through generated JSON that users or other projects can override. Datapacks and resource packs can use its JSON features to create data-driven content such as blocks, items, entities, creative tabs, and sound events, as well as modify biomes, adjust loot tables, and customize mob variants. Mob variants can alter textures, sounds, attributes, spawn conditions, attack effects, daylight burning, and loot, while block conversions define interactions such as waxing copper or stripping logs. The API also supports quickly generating common content families, including wood, brick, colored, equipment, and tool-and-armor sets, rather than requiring each component to be authored individually. Data-driven listeners can load from datapacks, resource packs, or mods, and many can refresh at runtime; optional load requirements and priority settings support conditional content and overrides.
Written from Modrinth and the GitHub README . How we write it
Changes the game's code in 9 areas, as a library other mods build on: Mobs and their behaviorChanges 10 game code files in this area: mobs, animals, villagers, projectiles and how they move and act., Rendering and graphicsChanges 5 game code files in this area: drawing mobs, items, particles and textures on screen., Inventory and itemsChanges 5 game code files in this area: items, chests and other containers, crafting and enchanting., Game coreChanges 5 game code files in this area: the main loop, lighting and other code the whole game uses., PlayerChanges 4 game code files in this area: your character: movement, abilities, hunger and controls., Blocks and fluidsChanges 4 game code files in this area: how blocks, fluids and redstone work., Server and world logicChanges 3 game code files in this area: the world, commands, scoreboards, saved data and game rules., User interfaceChanges 2 game code files in this area: menus, screens, tooltips, the chat window and the in-game overlay. and Game data and resourcesChanges 1 game code file in this area: recipes, tags, advancements, language files and other game data..
Adds no new blocks, items or other content.
Keeps all of vanilla Minecraft's textures, models and sounds.
No harmful code found
We checked its files and read their code, without running it.
Why we show this: a mod runs on your computer like any program, so harmful code in it can take your accounts or files. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade, and a Warning in a latest file for a recent Minecraft version lowers it.
We found nothing it sends
We read its code without running it: it contacts no web address while you play.
Why we show this: a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign so far that AI was used to make it
We looked for AI tools in its texts, files and images and found none.
We have not read its code history yet.
No sign of AI in the game
We found no AI service, AI library or AI model file in its code.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.

More modpacks put it in their new versions than a year ago: 11 a month now, 0 a year agoThe average of the last 6 months, compared with the same 6 months a year before. We say it only when the change is large..
50 modpacks include Unified API in at least one of their versions. Here are the 30 most downloaded.
Mods that modpacks often add together with Unified API. Share: how many of the modpacks with Unified API also have that mod.
The newest file for each Minecraft version and loader. The files for recent versions come first. Recent versions: those released in the last 2 years, plus 1.20.1 and 1.21.1, among the most played in modpacks.
In the last 2 years, 21 releases needed a quick fix: a new release within 3 days to fix a problem. This lowers the grade by 5 points.
