A Christmas adventure with snowy villages, holiday quests, and festive bosses.

Better Than Christmas is a festive adventure modpack that turns Minecraft into a winter holiday world focused on exploration, quests, building, and seasonal survival. Its questlines include daily Advent Calendar rewards, first-day-in-winter tasks, holiday cooking and crafting, winter challenges, home and village decorating, and sweet adventures in Alex’s Candy Cavity. Explore snowy biomes, festive villages, taverns, and loot-filled dungeons, or venture into the Twilight Forest and face the horror-themed Frosty mini-boss. The pack also offers challenging Cataclysm bosses and other powerful endgame enemies, alongside Christmas-themed foes, friendly creatures, and seasonal mobs. For builders, it adds Christmas decorations and furniture, warm clothing, enhanced building blocks, and the option to make candy factories with Create Confectionery. Seasonal foods and crafting, a snowy-world overhaul, and a custom festive interface reinforce the holiday atmosphere and survival gameplay. With more than 150 mods, it is playable solo or with friends, including for shared village building, boss fights, and holiday-server play.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.20.1 · Forge, 7 Dec 2024). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
2 files not listed: no matching project found.
No harmful code found in the projects we checked
We checked 245 of its 246 projects, without running them.
We have not checked the files in the pack itself yet (settings, scripts).
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
6 mods send something about you
We read the code of 235 of its 236 mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign that AI was used to make its mods
We found no AI use from before this release (7 Dec 2024) in the 209 mods we checked.
20 mods show AI use only from after it, so it does not apply to the versions in this pack.
27 mods are not checked yet.
Made with AI: not checked yet
We have not looked for AI tools in the pack itself yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
