A dark RPG adventure with bosses, classes, skills, and powerful gear.
Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 278 graded mods, 182 are graded A or B, 61 C and 35 D to F. Its newest release is for Minecraft 1.19.2. See the mods
Prey is an RPG modpack built around a multi-chapter quest to find the Eyes and defeat the Ender Dragon, taking players through five dimensions and 17 bosses before reaching the End. Its custom class system offers six main classes, including Berserkers, Bloodrippers, Battlemages, and Bounty Hunters, alongside 14 subclasses with distinct skill trees and starting gear; classes also have unique pets, passive abilities, and subclass synergies. Across 20 skill trees, players can develop skills for magic, archery, crafting, and other playstyles, while more than 50 armor sets grant bonuses for wearing matching pieces, such as extra health from diamond armor or increased movement speed from ocelot armor. Survival is especially dangerous at night and during thunderstorms, when mobs spawn more often and behave more aggressively, but they also drop twice as much loot. Players can tame or summon any mob, including monsters, using a system with 14 summoning stones and bone totems; challenge unlocks include unusual allies such as a fire-breathing grizzly bear, a lightning-summoning anaconda, and a lobster that launches attackers into the air. Monster kills also award coins for a shop stocked with items across different rarities, from torches and inventory gear such as Ender Chests and backpacks to powerful summons like a Mutant Creeper. Combat and exploration use wall jumps, combat rolls, grappling hooks, and paragliders, while timed bounties reward players with crates for killing enough of a target mob and high-value target hunts pay coins for defeating specific mini-bosses. The world-generation mix includes Regions Unexplored, WWOO, Tans Huge Trees, and Hals Enhanced Biomes, creating landscapes with giant trees, chasms, oceans, and frosted peaks. The ULTRA edition adds more structures, improved world generation, and visual effects, while the LITE edition reduces features for better performance.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.19.2 · Forge, 10 Jul 2024). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
1 file not listed: no matching project found.
Compared with the release of 7 Apr 2024 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. We do not compare the versions of the mods yet.
No harmful code found in the projects we checked
We checked 279 of its 283 projects and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
3 mods send something about you
We read the code of 263 of its 264 mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign that AI was used to make its mods
We found no AI use from before this release (10 Jul 2024) in the 218 mods we checked.
21 mods show AI use only from after it, so it does not apply to the versions in this pack.
46 mods are not checked yet.
No sign so far that AI was used to make the pack itself
We looked for AI tools in its texts and found none.
We have not read its files, images and code history yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
