A survival modpack built around exploration, quests, and fighting parasites.
Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 228 graded mods, 93 are graded A or B, 33 C and 102 D to F. Its last update came out 23 months ago, for Minecraft 1.12.2. See the mods
Scape and Run: Calamity is a large survival modpack built around long-term progression, exploration, strategy, and the escalating threat of Scape and Run: Parasites. Its 300-plus quests guide players through milestones, teach mod systems, and reward progress with experience, items, and knowledge, while nearly 1,000 altered recipes make powerful technology such as Mekanism’s Digital Miner a longer-term goal. Players can pursue technology and magic alongside survival, combat, and transportation content, including Mekanism, Spartan Weaponry, Tough as Nails, and Da Vinci’s Vessels. Loot can come from crafting, quests, bosses, and exploration, with custom locations including Arcane Watchtowers, an Observatory, a Laboratory, the Arcane Fortress, Lost Cities, and parasite-infested nests. Some dangerous structures offer distinctive rewards, such as the Stage III Pestilential Nest, a huge infested tree with a ship trapped inside, and the Stage III Flesh Worm, a dark, expansive cave network filled with parasites. Parasite progression is paced in phases, with threats such as ocean-dwelling Primitive Devourers appearing from Phase 4 and colonies and nodes emerging in later phases; parasite lures and phase timing are balanced around that escalation. The challenge also includes recurring parasite hordes that swarm toward the player’s base every 30 days, and bosses across dimensions with unique abilities and rewards. Players can purify Pestilential Ores into ordinary ores, use an antidote to cure COTH entities, and travel by ship, wings, or horse. Exploration extends into new Nether and End biomes, with the End also featuring expanded scenery and skies. The pack supports multiplayer through Essential Mod.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.12.2 · Forge, 11 Nov 2024). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
Compared with the release of 11 Oct 2024 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. We do not compare the versions of the mods yet.
No harmful code found in the mods we checked
We checked 230 of its 234 mods, without running them.
We have not checked the files in the pack itself yet (settings, scripts).
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
6 mods send something about you
We read the code of 229 of its 234 mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI used in 7 of the 139 mods we checked
We found an AI tool in them, or their authors declared AI content.
95 mods are not checked yet.
Made with AI: not checked yet
We have not looked for AI tools in the pack itself yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
