A horror modpack that makes ocean exploration frightening and dangerous.
Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 71 graded mods, 48 are graded A or B, 14 C and 9 D to F. Its last update came out 11 months ago, for Minecraft 1.20.1. See the mods
Terrors From the Deep is a horror-themed ocean survival modpack that turns Minecraft’s waters into a hostile setting for exploration, treasure hunting, and dangerous dives. Its underwater environments include volcanic trenches, coral forests, ship graveyards, and abyssal depths, with resources, secrets, and hazards tied to each biome. Players encounter aquatic life ranging from schools of fish to deep-sea predators, and can explore hidden temples, underwater dungeons, and sunken cities guarded by hostile creatures. Survival and exploration involve crafting diving gear, submersibles, and sonar tools, upgrading equipment, and building underwater bases to withstand the depths.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.20.1 · Forge, 26 Nov 2025). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
No harmful code found in the projects we checked
We checked 71 of its 72 projects, without running them.
We have not checked the files in the pack itself yet (settings, scripts).
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
4 mods send something about you
We read the code of 64 of its 65 mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI used in 2 of the 58 mods we checked
We found an AI tool in them, or their authors declared AI content.
7 mods are not checked yet.
Made with AI: not checked yet
We have not looked for AI tools in the pack itself yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
