    About

    Advanced Fishing overhauls fishing with 49 new fish, six cooked fish, and revised catch mechanics that also govern where vanilla fish can be caught: catches depend on biome, dimension, or liquid, and some fish have special crafting recipes. Its biome-based fish include Sandy Bass, Golden Koi, and Sunfish in desert, savanna, and mesa biomes; Piranha, Sparkling Eel, and Mandarinfish in jungles; and Snowy Walleye, Frost Minnow, and Glacier Anchovy in snowy biomes and taiga. Oceans and beaches have fish such as Blue Jellyfish, Angelfish, Clown Fish, and Sponge Eater, while deep oceans can yield Abyssal Lurkers and Angler fish; caves add rare catches including Crystal Mullet, Charged Bullhead, and gemstone-themed fish. The collection also covers unusual environments, with Green Jellyfish, Bone Fish, Cursed Koi, and Spookyfin in non-vanilla “dead” biomes, End-specific Ender Shad, Pearl Sardine, and Chorus Koi, and lava catches such as Obsidian Bream and Magma Jellyfish, plus Nether-only species. The Blazing Fishing Pole supports lava fishing and adds luck and lure speed, while the early-game Chum Bucket reduces lure time in water for five minutes. New enchantments include Awakened Rod for automatic fishing, Luminous Float for a glowing bobber, and Infernal Line for lava fishing; curses can instead bring drowned, empty bites, ignition, or reduced luck. The mod also adds recipes for luck and experience potions, and rain improves lure speed while thunderstorms improve luck. Other mods can define fishing rules for their own fluids, including custom loot, particles, and bobber behavior; with Gravestone - Extended, many fish also gain brewing recipes and the integration adds a fluid with special catches and two rods.
