    About

    Cold Sweat adds a survival-focused temperature system in which a player’s body temperature responds to biome, weather, altitude, nearby blocks and items, and can become dangerously hot or cold, causing damage and other harmful effects. Players can monitor conditions with a temperature gauge and use a thermometer to read the exact ambient temperature, while nearby heat- or cold-emitting blocks such as lava and ice can shift the local temperature. For protection, a Sewing Table lets players combine armor with insulation materials, including goat fur for cold resistance and hoglin hide for heat resistance; insulation types can also be mixed, and chameleon molt adapts between hot and cold protection as conditions change. Waterskins provide portable temperature relief: fill one from a water source, warm or cool it at a campfire, soul campfire, boiler, or icebox, then pour it over yourself or drink it for a gradual effect. For longer-term shelter and travel, the Hearth regulates temperature around a base, while an insulated minecart protects passengers on journeys through hostile biomes; the Soulspring Lamp provides cooling while carried in the Nether. The mod also adds chameleons, passive tameable mobs that change color with ambient temperature and shed molt used for adaptive insulation, as well as goat-fur and hoglin-hide insulated armor sets with additional effects such as protection from powder snow or magma blocks. With Serene Seasons installed, the current season and sub-season can affect world temperature, and the mod also provides integrations with biome and gameplay mods including Biomes O’ Plenty, Oh, the Biomes You’ll Go, Terralith, Create, Curios, and Thirst Was Taken. Detailed in-game and file-based configuration, JSON datapacks, and KubeJS support let players and modpack makers customize the temperature system and its effects.
