A modpack with magic, building, exploration, and many ways to play.
Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 151 graded mods, 51 are graded A or B, 29 C and 71 D to F. Its newest release is for Minecraft 1.12.2. See the mods
Chris' Quest is a magitech-focused modpack that extends familiar Minecraft exploration, crafting, and building with connected progression, while letting players choose their own pace and preferred ways to play. Players can develop technology and large factories, pursue magic through spells and rituals, build and decorate, explore dungeons and ruins for loot, manage a colony, or focus on farming and cooking. Progression links mods through custom recipes and questlines, and players work toward greater convenience and efficiency rather than receiving every upgrade at the outset; automation is possible, but it is not the pack's central focus. The quest book guides players through different progression paths and explains how mods work, making the pack approachable to people new to modded Minecraft. Its featured content includes magic and technology mods such as Astral Sorcery, Blood Magic, Botania, Thaumcraft, Immersive Engineering, and EnderIO; exploration destinations include Biomes O' Plenty, The Betweenlands, and Twilight Forest, while HarvestCraft supports its farming and culinary options.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.12.2 · Forge, 16 Sep 2022). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
Compared with the release of 18 Nov 2018 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. We do not compare the versions of the mods yet.
No harmful code found in its mods
We checked all 158 mods and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
4 mods send something about you
We read the code of all 158 of its mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign that AI was used to make its mods
We found no AI use from before this release (16 Sep 2022) in the 78 mods we checked.
3 mods show AI use only from after it, so it does not apply to the versions in this pack.
80 mods are not checked yet.
No sign so far that AI was used to make the pack itself
We looked for AI tools in its texts and found none.
We have not read its files and images yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
