A challenging tech modpack focused on slow progress and automation.
Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 183 graded mods, 156 are graded A or B, 27 C and none D to F. Its last update came out 5 weeks ago, for Minecraft 1.20.1. See the mods
GregTech: New Frontier is a challenging, long-form technology modpack centered on authentic GregTech progression, with complementary mods selected to support rather than overshadow its systems. Progress is deliberately methodical: players must plan infrastructure and manage resources, automation, energy, and logistics, since rushing can undermine long-term success. A quest book with hundreds of quests guides players from early-game survival through mid-game infrastructure to late-game automation, while teaching GregTech systems and providing story elements and a clear end goal.
Written from CurseForge and the GitHub README . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.20.1 · Forge, 18 Sep 2026). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
Compared with the release of 9 Sep 2026 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. Same mods in both. We do not compare the versions of the mods yet.
No harmful code found in the projects we checked
We checked 183 of its 184 projects and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
8 mods send something about you
We read the code of 181 of its 182 mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI used in 13 of the 156 mods we checked
We found an AI tool in them, or their authors declared AI content.
26 mods are not checked yet.
Made with AI: not checked yet
We have not looked for AI tools in the pack itself yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
