A fishing minigame where you balance your line and reel in fish.

Fishing Made Better turns vanilla fishing into a more involved activity built around a minigame: after a fish bites, you balance line tension against the fish’s movement while reeling it in, or risk losing the catch. The minigame’s appearance changes with the fishing location, including its biome, dimension, elevation, and liquid, and fish differ in how long they stay hooked, how quickly they escape, and how deep they swim. Fish have distinct habitats and feeding conditions, so what you can catch depends on factors such as liquid, biome, depth, light, weather, and bait; some fish may not be available in an area if conditions are unsuitable. Fish populations are tracked by chunk and can be depleted through overfishing, while a Bait Box can feed low populations and support reproduction. You can move living fish in water buckets to new locations and establish hatcheries for breeding fish with desired traits. Rod attachments can expand the liquids you can fish in, make catches easier or faster, alter fish-related outcomes, or improve the chance of finding extra treasure; a Fish Tracker provides population estimates for a chunk. Fish types and their characteristics are configurable, including habitat, rarity, population, preferred bait, and what fish yield when scaled or sliced, allowing players to define fish from other mods. The mod includes ready-made fish configuration support for vanilla fish and, when the relevant mods are installed, Aquaculture and Advanced Fishing; it also integrates with JEI to display custom recipes.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
It has no file for a recent Minecraft version. This is about its files for Minecraft 1.12 to 1.12.2.
Adds:
Counted from the files of the mod. Content made only in its code is not counted.
Keeps all of vanilla Minecraft's textures, models and sounds.
No harmful code found
It has no file for a recent Minecraft version. This is about its files for Minecraft 1.12 to 1.12.2.
We checked its files and read their code, without running it.
Why we show this: a mod runs on your computer like any program, so harmful code in it can take your accounts or files. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: malware means no grade, and a Warning in a latest file for a recent Minecraft version lowers it.
We found nothing it sends
It has no file for a recent Minecraft version. This is about its files for Minecraft 1.12 to 1.12.2.
We read its code without running it: it contacts no web address while you play.
Why we show this: a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign that AI was used to make it
We looked for AI tools in its texts, files, images, sounds and code history and found none.
No sign of AI in the game
We found no AI service, AI library or AI model file in its code.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
