    About

    Fungal Infection:Spore is a survival-horror mod that raises the danger of a Minecraft world with a hostile fungal infection driven by a dormant bioweapon. Infected humans spread Mycelium Infection through bites, and infected humans that die can rise again as servants of the fungus; the infection is described as targeting humans. As infected creatures consume biomass, they mutate into stronger forms, while the infection works to rebuild a hivemind and its hierarchy. Its enhanced infected AI can gather into hordes and call for backup, and players may encounter constructs assembled from fallen humans. The infection also changes the environment: gallery examples show caves overtaken by fungal spread, Mounds that spread block infection, and a Proto Hivemind creating zones of influence with mycelial growths, traps, and biomass defenses. The threat includes distinct infected forms such as the evolved Braiomil and Phayres, the hyper-evolved Wendigo, and Calamities including the Hindenburg, Gazenbreacher, and Howitzer. Players can configure aspects of the infection, including the hyper-evolution timer, whether Mounds move to the surface when they spawn, whether infected mobs despawn, and which biomes are blacklisted. The mod is compatible with Create, Farmer’s Delight, Better Combat, and Alex’s Caves.
