A horror and thriller-based survival modpack, where your goal to survive is put to the test.
Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 236 graded mods, 150 are graded A or B, 50 C and 36 D to F. Its newest release is for Minecraft 1.20.1. See the mods
The Everlasting Fog is a horror-focused survival modpack that turns exploration and survival into a struggle against Herobrine, infection, and a hostile world, with difficulty and a persistent sense of danger taking priority over simple jump scares. Herobrine begins watching after the first few days, while the night and caves bring threats such as the Cave Dweller and Corpse Stalker; Blood Moons, agitated undead hordes, and animals warped by his influence add to the danger. Infections including the Infectious Spore, Fearsome Sculk Horde, and Flesh That Hates threaten the world, and the hordes can also turn against other lifeforms, making enemies temporary allies. The setting spans transformed caves and a horror-filled Nether, with the Deep Dark’s Tomb of Sculk, a Witherstorm near the world’s fog-concentrated origin, and Pillagers who have become a dominant force amid the spreading infection. Boss encounters are tied to distinctive locations: the Nether’s Soul Forge holds the Netherite Monstrosity, the End’s Ruined Citadel shelters the Ender Guardian, and the Sunken City is the Leviathan’s ocean fortress. Other major threats include the Harbinger at the Ancient Factory, a former player-era facility, and Ignis in the Burning Arena, where summoning him requires collecting minion flames and using them at his altar. The modpack is intended for Survival or Hardcore play, and quests and advancements offer ways to discover boss progression, which has no fixed order; lighting torches requires crafting matches. Its sleep systems add survival choices: a Night Bag lets players sleep wherever and whenever, hammocks allow daytime sleep, and repeated consecutive nights of sleep increase the risk of nightmares.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.20.1 · Forge, 29 Feb 2024). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
1 file not listed: no matching project found.
Compared with the release of 5 Nov 2023 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. We do not compare the versions of the projects yet.
No harmful code found in the projects we checked
We checked 233 of its 236 projects and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
7 mods send something about you
We read the code of 232 of its 234 mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign that AI was used to make its mods
We found no AI use from before this release (29 Feb 2024) in the 183 mods we checked.
14 mods show AI use only from after it, so it does not apply to the versions in this pack.
51 mods are not checked yet.
Made with AI: not checked yet
We have not looked for AI tools in the pack itself yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
