About
Thaumic Augmentation expands Thaumcraft with additional magic, equipment, devices, and an Eldritch storyline intended to fit alongside the base mod. Its research unlocks upgraded thaumium and void-metal casting gauntlets, which can receive customizable spell-casting upgrades, as well as new Light and Water focus effects: configurable permanent magical lighting, and spells useful for extinguishing fires, cooling lava, and filling cauldrons. Warded Arcana adds player-controlled doors, trapdoors, chests, keys, pressure plates, and buttons, while the Warding focus can make simple blocks nearly indestructible until the ward is removed. Golemancy additions include a Seal Copier for transferring settings between seals and a Secure Seal that directs combat-capable golems to attack anything they see. The Autocaster uses vis to fire spell foci at chosen targets, and the Vis Regenerator replenishes vis in the local aura. Other gear includes the Primal Cutter, which works as both a deadly weapon and an axe; Void Thaumaturge Boots for faster running and higher jumps; and a vis-powered Thaumostatic Harness that enables flight and can be upgraded for speed or stability. An Elytra Harness improves the elytra with damage resistance and banner patterns, while Morphic Tools and Armour let players change the appearance of items and armour. The mod also adds blast-resistant Fortified Glass, Starfield Glass that captures a view associated with a Flux Rift or magic mirror, an Item Grate that filters item passage, glass essentia tubes, and upgraded Robes of the Adept. A Celestial Observer automatically scans the sun, moon, and stars when supplied with paper, supporting theorycrafting. Beyond its equipment and devices, the mod reimagines Thaumcraft’s Eldritch secrets around a vast Emptiness and dark forces that players can challenge and, with dedication, harness.
