Scavengers of Ancient Power is a carefully customized Minecraft overhaul built as an open-world sandbox RPG, with semi-linear character progression and fast, challenging combat. Players can follow quests and challenges while exploring areas of escalating difficulty, developing skills, casting spells, and seeking powerful artifacts and distinctive weapons. The pack supports a loot-focused playstyle with little need for building, farming, or technology, while in-game quests and guides provide useful direction and information. Exploration ranges across hundreds of structures and dungeons, underground and surface locations, and dimensions including the Sky Castle, Prison, and Glass Ocean, alongside reworked world generation in the Overworld, Nether, and End. The Nether includes floating islands, while a Crying Obsidian portal can take players to the Night World, an exceptionally difficult version of the Overworld locked in perpetual night. Combat features hundreds of weapons, varied playstyles, spellcasting, more than a dozen bosses, and an expanded cast of hostile and passive creatures, with examples such as the Void Blossom, Fire Bird, and Black Bridge Guardian. Death has a countdown before respawning and can cost a random portion of carried items and some experience, while a skill tree and area-based difficulty shape character progression and encounters. The pack also includes four playable Origins with distinct abilities: Wildling improves jumping and speed, Mer specializes in swimming, Hellspawn resists fire and lava, and Voidthing can blink and reach farther. It is designed to run on lower-end devices and includes performance-focused world-generation changes.
Written from Modrinth . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.20.1 · Fabric, 14 Jul 2025). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
2 files not listed: no matching project found.
Compared with the release of 17 Jun 2025 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. We do not compare the versions of the mods yet.
No harmful code found in its projects
We checked all 384 projects and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
17 mods send something about you
We read the code of all 378 of its mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign that AI was used to make its mods
We found no AI use from before this release (14 Jul 2025) in the 374 mods we checked.
21 mods show AI use only from after it, so it does not apply to the versions in this pack.
4 mods are not checked yet.
1 mod can use AI in the game.
No sign so far that AI was used to make the pack itself
We looked for AI tools in its texts and found none.
We have not read its files and images yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
