A magical RPG modpack with spells, quests, and mysterious lands.
Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 246 graded mods, 206 are graded A or B, 37 C and 3 D to F. Its last update came out yesterday, for Minecraft 1.20.1. See the mods
Adventures of a Magician is a fantasy RPG modpack built around exploring a magical world, learning sorcery, and progressing through custom in-game advancements rather than traditional FTB quests. Exploration includes varied terrain and enchanted forests, dungeons, magical ruins, and hidden kingdoms, with Biomes O’ Plenty and Dungeon Crawl adding biome variety and large, challenging dungeons. Its magic systems span Ars Nouveau for custom spell creation, Botania’s nature-based magic, Blood Magic rituals, and the druidic rituals and natural abilities of Roots; combat centers on using spells against formidable foes. Advancement is presented as a way to unlock magical knowledge and earn artifacts, while players can build a wizard’s tower, craft legendary items, and choose a scholarly or combat-focused style. The pack supports solo or cooperative play, where friends can explore and conquer dungeons together and trade magical items. The Excalibur resource pack gives the game a medieval visual style, and BSL Shaders add enhanced lighting; Excalibur can be disabled without affecting the pack’s functionality.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.20.1 · Forge, 14 Oct 2026). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
Compared with the release of 8 Oct 2026 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. Same mods in both. We do not compare the versions of the mods yet.
No harmful code found in the projects we checked
We checked 245 of its 246 projects, without running them.
We have not checked the files in the pack itself yet (settings, scripts).
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
6 mods send something about you
We read the code of 235 of its 236 mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI used in 7 of the 205 mods we checked
We found an AI tool in them, or their authors declared AI content.
10 other mods show AI use only from after this release (14 Oct 2026), so it does not apply to the versions in this pack.
31 mods are not checked yet.
No sign so far that AI was used to make the pack itself
We looked for AI tools in its texts and found none.
We have not read its files and images yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
