FTB Evolution 2 is a kitchen-sink modpack that combines open-ended play with custom progression, thousands of quests, and an endgame challenge that brings its technology, magic, and exploration together. The journey begins in a revamped FTB Pyramid, then opens into a custom-generated world of towering mountains, rivers, and streams, with dungeons, dragons, and travelling merchants to discover. Underwater, players can explore Bioluminescent Groves, Hydrothermal Vents, and the Abyssal Trench for resources and dangers, while building optical networks, cultivating bacterial colonies, unlocking biological augments, and piloting an upgradeable multiplayer submarine. Industrial progression ranges from ore processing to nuclear engineering, particle accelerators, and large reactors, using systems such as Industrial Contraptions, LTX Industries, Colossal Reactors, and Oritech alongside Ender IO, Applied Energistics 2, and Refined Storage. Magic offers several distinct paths: create spells with Ars Magica Legacy, command spirits through Occultism, perform Witchery rituals, or explore necromancy, souls, and blood magic. For space exploration, players build a rocket to reach the Moon, explore lunar dungeons, and establish an orbital station, extending their factories beyond the world below. Custom skill trees let players specialize in combat, movement, mining, magic, or gunnery and unlock abilities such as air dashes, homing arrows, stronger spells, and improved rituals; customizable firearms support both quickdraw and precision-focused play. A recruitable Kindred Spirit can fight alongside its player, carry supplies, and grow stronger through their adventures together. The pack’s central challenge is to build an FTB Skyline, supply it with items, fluids, and energy, and complete challenges that unite technology, magic, and automation to create the Heart of the Beast. Players can tackle that challenge solo, as a team, or in races on the Challenge Boards, with completing the Heart earning the Beast Trophy and unlocking creative rewards.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 26.1.2 · NeoForge, 22 Oct 2026). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
Compared with the release of 19 Oct 2026 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. Same mods in both. We do not compare the versions of the mods yet.
No harmful code found in the projects we checked
We checked 421 of its 424 projects and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
10 mods send something about you
We read the code of 418 of its 421 mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI used in 32 of the 334 mods we checked
We found an AI tool in them, or their authors declared AI content.
87 mods are not checked yet.
2 mods can use AI in the game.
No sign so far that AI was used to make the pack itself
We looked for AI tools in its texts and code history and found none.
We have not read its files and images yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
