A challenging adventure with character roles, tough bosses, and teamwork.
Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 228 graded mods, 126 are graded A or B, 43 C and 59 D to F. Its last update came out 2.8 years ago, for Minecraft 1.16.5. See the mods
Infernal Origins is a challenging, MMO-inspired modpack built around party roles, boss fights, and fast, replayable progression, with difficulty that increases over time; it is designed for groups of three or more but can also be played solo. It adds 13 custom Origins: the DPS classes Soul Warlock, Blood Archer, and Owlkin; the healers Bard, Templar, and Druid; the tanks Wendigo, Dragon Knight, and Earth Warden; and the utility classes Void Wyvern, Changeling, and Imp, alongside the Survivalist challenge Origin. Each Origin has distinct abilities, and all 13 upgrade to stronger versions after the Ender Dragon is killed. Combat combines familiar bosses with custom raid-like mechanics and wipe attacks, while tougher mobs can have elemental or enchanted variants, enhanced AI, and increasingly powerful gear. Slayer tasks award points for building into 13 skills, and equipment customization includes rune slots, scrolls, affixes, item passives, and the pack's Fabled Weaponry mod. The pack also adds safeguards for group survival: lethal hits can be prevented, downed players can be revived by friends, and gravestones keep a player's loot recoverable after death. Outside combat, it overhauls world generation and cave exploration, adds Terraria-inspired fishing, farming, and cooking, and provides many building blocks. Special moons appear on most nights in six variations, while custom interface art and MMO-style rarity colors and borders give menus and items a distinct visual treatment. Built-in Essential hosting lets friends play together without purchasing a server, and proximity voice chat is included for use in-game and on servers without additional setup.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.16.5 · Forge, 19 Jan 2024). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
1 file not listed: no matching project found.
Compared with the release of 21 Dec 2023 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. We do not compare the versions of the mods yet.
No harmful code found in the projects we checked
We checked 222 of its 232 projects and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
5 mods send something about you
We read the code of 213 of its 222 mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI used in 12 of the 149 mods we checked
We found an AI tool in them, or their authors declared AI content.
73 mods are not checked yet.
No sign so far that AI was used to make the pack itself
We looked for AI tools in its texts and found none.
We have not read its files and images yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
