BaerCraft is a customized modpack for building, exploration, collecting, and optional progression, designed to offer a lively world and a flexible, unhurried play experience. Its varied landscapes include overhauled caves, new biomes, seasonal changes, dynamic trees, expanded forests, and improved mineshafts, while ambient visual and sound details help make the world feel more alive. Players can explore the Nether and End with added creatures, structures, and biomes, as well as five additional dimensions: Atum, the Bumblezone, the Undergarden, the Everbright, and the Everdawn. The world is populated by many new passive, neutral, and hostile creatures, including dragons, mutant versions of familiar mobs, and unusual wildlife; exploration also brings dungeons, altered strongholds, and other new structures. Building-focused players have hundreds of added blocks and decorations, along with tools such as WorldEdit and Chisels & Bits, while collectors can seek out armor, weapons, tools, trophies, creature skulls, and tameable mobs. Technology is available but not required, with options including Applied Energistics 2, Create, Immersive Engineering, Thermal Expansion, and Redstone Pen, which lets players draw compact redstone circuits on surfaces. Farming and everyday play also gain practical touches, including more crops, a scythe that can harvest and replant in an area, backpacks, map tools, and gravestones that preserve a player's items after death. Quests and custom advancements offer optional guidance rather than a required route, though stages gate access to certain items and dimensions; recipe and configuration changes further shape the pack's progression.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.16.5 · Forge, 3 Sep 2026). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
Compared with the release of 14 Aug 2026 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. Same mods in both. We do not compare the versions of the mods yet.
No harmful code found in the projects we checked
We checked 245 of its 251 projects, without running them.
We have not checked the files in the pack itself yet (settings, scripts).
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
5 mods send something about you
We read the code of 239 of its 243 mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI used in 16 of the 184 mods we checked
We found an AI tool in them, or their authors declared AI content.
59 mods are not checked yet.
Made with AI: not checked yet
We have not looked for AI tools in the pack itself yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
