A vanilla-style adventure pack focused on exploring the world on horseback.
Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 330 graded mods, 269 are graded A or B, 33 C and 28 D to F. Its last update came out 4 months ago, for Minecraft 1.21.1. See the mods
It Takes a Journey is a vanilla-focused modpack for exploration, adventure, and multiplayer, built around horseback travel and the Essential mod rather than mining or prolonged searches for resources. It keeps encounterable blocks vanilla while adding visual polish and modded structures, including the Trident Trial Monument. Its rebalanced gameplay makes mobs more intelligent and powerful, gives horses stronger travel potential while adding stamina, and makes crops easier to find but harder to cultivate through seasons. Loot is reworked to be more accessible and fitting for different play styles, with examples including scute from armadillos and expanded crafting. The pack also updates the End and includes visual additions such as Fresh Animations, refreshed boss and creeper looks, and multiple compatible shader options.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.21.1 · Fabric, 26 Jun 2026). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
1 file not listed: no matching project found.
Compared with the release of 29 May 2026 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. We do not compare the versions of the projects yet.
No harmful code found in the projects we checked
We checked 332 of its 334 projects and the files in the pack itself.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
11 mods send something about you
We read the code of 304 of its 306 mods.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
No sign that AI was used to make its mods
We found no AI use from before this release (26 Jun 2026) in the 270 mods we checked.
18 mods show AI use only from after it, so it does not apply to the versions in this pack.
36 mods are not checked yet.
Made with AI: not checked yet
We have not looked for AI tools in the pack itself yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
