Prehistoric World 2 is an exploration and progression modpack about uncovering fossils, reviving extinct creatures, and exploring prehistoric worlds. Excavate fossils and extract DNA to bring dinosaurs back to life, then travel through the Paleogene, Neogene, and Pleistocene eras, each with its own creatures, resources, and landscapes. The creature roster also includes Ice Age mammals and other extinct animals from Wan's Ancient Beasts and Blast From The Past, as well as dinosaurs found in the caves of Alex's Caves. Hundreds of custom quests guide progression through the pack's major features, while expeditions can lead to ancient ruins, hidden treasures, dangerous predators, and powerful bosses. Explore improved world generation, hundreds of structures, and dimensions including The Aether and The Twilight Forest. Build a dinosaur sanctuary or research facility, defend it with weapons from Timeless and Classics Zero and security systems from SecurityCraft, and automate your base with Create.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.20.1 · Forge, 24 Oct 2026). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
Compared with the release of 21 Oct 2026 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. Same mods in both. We do not compare the versions of the mods yet.
No harmful code found in its projects
We checked all 365 projects and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
9 mods send something about you
We read the code of all 353 of its mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI used in 32 of the 318 mods we checked
We found an AI tool in them, or their authors declared AI content.
35 mods are not checked yet.
No sign so far that AI was used to make the pack itself
We looked for AI tools in its texts and found none.
We have not read its files and images yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
