A boss battle adventure with dangerous undead and challenging fights.
Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 410 graded mods, 258 are graded A or B, 120 C and 32 D to F. Its last update came out 4 weeks ago, for Minecraft 1.20.1. See the mods
Angel Tale: The Midnight is a single-player boss-battle modpack set in a dangerous world left largely in ruins after Apollyon’s war with the gods, where your mission is to defeat the undead. It includes 99 bosses, most with their own background music, and useful loot; many familiar bosses have been substantially reworked, including Ignis, which is described as a completely different boss. Fights are tuned to be fair but difficult, with three difficulty levels: Normal, Adventure, and Apocalypse, which progressively strengthen bosses and their AI. The project also features a poisonous-slime-spawning biome and named threats including the Night Warden, the Immortal, the Lord, the Forgotten Shadow of Apollyon, the Night Lich, and the Devourer of Gods. While the Night Lich remains undefeated, all dimensions are locked in night.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.20.1 · Forge, 28 Sep 2026). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
2 files not listed: no matching project found.
Compared with the release of 26 Sep 2026 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. We do not compare the versions of the mods yet.
No harmful code found in the projects we checked
We checked 399 of its 412 projects and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
11 mods send something about you
We read the code of 395 of its 411 mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI used in 24 of the 323 mods we checked
We found an AI tool in them, or their authors declared AI content.
88 mods are not checked yet.
2 mods can use AI in the game.
No sign so far that AI was used to make the pack itself
We looked for AI tools in its texts and found none.
We have not read its files and images yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
