A horror modpack where monsters and Herobrine hunt you.
Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 141 graded mods, 108 are graded A or B, 25 C and 8 D to F. Its last update came out 2 weeks ago, for Minecraft 1.20.1. See the mods
FEAR is a horror modpack built around surviving a world where Herobrine, the Wither Storm, cave-dwelling creatures and other threats stalk the player. Its monsters include the Cave Dweller, Man From The Fog, Slender Man, Goat Man and Midnight Lurker, as well as frightening arthropods such as spiders, moths and centipedes, with the Spider Moth appearing as a boss. The danger extends beyond hostile creatures: passive animals can fight back, zombies mine blocks, and creepers breach walls. The pack also adds ritual magic for summoning spirits, reworked world generation with Biomes O’ Plenty, and dungeons and structures featuring Graveyard and Horror Elements content. Survival has more grounded food gathering and tree chopping, while visual enhancements and shader support shape the atmosphere. The collection includes more than 100 mods and built-in world sharing through e4mc.
Written from Modrinth . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.20.1 · Forge, 9 Oct 2026). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
1 file not listed: no matching project found.
Compared with the release of 7 Aug 2025 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. We do not compare the versions of the projects yet.
No harmful code found in its projects
We checked all 143 projects and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
6 mods send something about you
We read the code of all 137 of its mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI used in 18 of the 137 mods we checked
We found an AI tool in them, or their authors declared AI content.
No sign so far that AI was used to make the pack itself
We looked for AI tools in its texts and found none.
We have not read its files and images yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
