Explore a world of machines, magic, and hidden places.
Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 271 graded mods, 171 are graded A or B, 45 C and 55 D to F. Its last update came out 3.7 years ago, for Minecraft 1.16.5. See the mods
Astral Engineering is an exploration-focused modpack that combines diesel and steampunk-inspired technology with magic, easing players into progression before its challenges intensify toward the endgame. Explore dungeons across the overworld, a reworked End, and space, with diverse landscapes shaped by modded biomes and structures, including challenging PvE sites such as battle towers. Technological progression moves from the Immersive Engineering suite and Create toward Mekanism, alongside options such as Thermal and custom multiblock machinery designed to fit the pack’s aesthetic. Magic progression draws on Botania, Astral Sorcery, and Mana and Artifice, while Tinkers’ Construct lets players make custom tools. A quest book provides described, rewarded quests for activities including Immersive Railroading, Minecolonies, and custom collectables, with secret rewards also available. Minecolonies has a dedicated quest tree for building an industrial cityscape, and the pack also includes a Mars setting evocative of a dark cave and colonial settlements. Building-focused content includes abundant decorative blocks from Chisel, Chipped, 'Dustrial Decor, and Engineer’s Decor, which are kept inexpensive to encourage construction.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.16.5 · Forge, 10 Feb 2023). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
1 file not listed: no matching project found.
Compared with the release of 24 Jan 2023 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. Same mods in both. We do not compare the versions of the mods yet.
No harmful code found in the mods we checked
We checked 272 of its 275 mods and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
6 mods send something about you
We read the code of 272 of its 275 mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI used in 18 of the 189 mods we checked
We found an AI tool in them, or their authors declared AI content.
86 mods are not checked yet.
Made with AI: not checked yet
We have not looked for AI tools in the pack itself yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
