A horror adventure with an AI companion that grows unsettling.
Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 288 graded mods, 232 are graded A or B, 50 C and 6 D to F. Its last update came out 8 days ago, for Minecraft 1.20.1. See the mods
Verity World is a horror survival modpack built around a companion that initially seems friendly but becomes increasingly unsettling as you play. The AI-driven companion follows and speaks to you, with adaptive dialogue that can change over time and unsettling signs such as a flickering glow or references to places you have not revealed. The unease follows you through ordinary survival activities, including building a base, exploring caves, and trying to sleep, leaving you unsure whether the companion is helping or watching you.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.20.1 · Forge, 18 Oct 2026). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
Compared with the release of 14 Oct 2026 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. Same projects in both.
No harmful code found in the projects we checked
We checked 285 of its 288 projects, without running them.
We have not checked the files in the pack itself yet (settings, scripts).
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
8 mods send something about you
We read the code of 268 of its 272 mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI used in 18 of the 235 mods we checked
We found an AI tool in them, or their authors declared AI content.
37 mods are not checked yet.
2 mods can use AI in the game.
No sign so far that AI was used to make the pack itself
We looked for AI tools in its texts and found none.
We have not read its files and images yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
