Colonies And Technologies is a multiplayer-focused modpack for building a MineColonies settlement with friends, while offering a broad range of other ways to explore, create, and progress. Its technology options include Create, Applied Energistics 2, and Mekanism, with automation and ore processing, alongside Ad Astra space travel to destinations such as the Moon and Mars. Exploration spans reshaped Overworld, Nether, and End terrain, the Aether dimension, and locations such as large When Dungeons Arise dungeons, YUNG’s structures, ruins, and bridges. For travel, players can use Automobility cars, Immersive Aircraft, small passenger ships, hang gliders, grappling hooks, and Waystones. Combat and equipment additions include Vic’s Point Blank guns with customizable attachments, Simply Swords weapons, improved tridents and bows, and artifacts that grant useful buffs. The pack also adds new creatures and livestock, improved village life with Fresh Animations and villager-focused features, and practical tools such as backpacks and a lootable corpse left after death. Building is supported by Forgematica schematics, Effortless Building’s shape-based placement, and a range of decorative blocks and furniture; shaders, sound, and visual mods further shape the experience. Essential lets players invite friends to single-player worlds, while Lootr provides instanced loot for multiplayer exploration.
Written from Modrinth . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.20.1 · Forge, 16 Feb 2025). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
2 files not listed: no matching project found.
Compared with the release of 9 Sep 2024 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader. We do not compare the versions of the projects yet.
No harmful code found in the projects we checked
We checked 389 of its 390 projects and the files in the pack itself, without running them.
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
12 mods send something about you
We read the code of 365 of its 366 mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI used in 46 of the 363 mods we checked
We found an AI tool in them, or their authors declared AI content.
3 mods are not checked yet.
No sign so far that AI was used to make the pack itself
We looked for AI tools in its texts and found none.
We have not read its files, images and code history yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
