Survive a horror adventure with a creepy AI companion and monsters.
Modpacks get no grade of their own, so we show the grades of its mods. Of its 294 graded mods, 238 are graded A or B, 50 C and 6 D to F. Its last update came out 3 days ago, for Minecraft 1.20.1. See the mods
Horror Ultimate Selection is a horror adventure modpack built around surviving a world of frightening encounters, dangerous exploration, and uncertain allies. You may encounter apparitions, strange events, cursed areas, and unsettling paranormal sounds, while monsters use improved AI to hear and track you. Exploration leads through abandoned houses, dungeons, crypts, and ruins, with dangerous bosses and unpredictable events that can devastate entire regions. A yellow AI sphere named Verity follows you as a companion that can chat, answer questions, and interact during play; its behavior grows increasingly unsettling and unpredictable over time. Using Verity requires configuring an AI provider, with options including Groq, Ollama, and OpenAI. The pack is suited to multiplayer, though its horror-filled survival can strain trust between players.
Written from CurseForge . How we write it
The mods of its newest release (Minecraft 1.20.1 · Forge, 17 Oct 2026). Each check result is for the latest files of that mod, which may not be the version in this pack.
Compared with the release of 13 Oct 2026 for the same platform, Minecraft version and loader.
No harmful code found in the projects we checked
We checked 291 of its 294 projects, without running them.
We have not checked the files in the pack itself yet (settings, scripts).
Why we show this: a modpack installs the files of its mods, and each mod runs on your computer like any program. Our checks look for known signs of harm. They cannot prove that a file is harmless. In the grade: a modpack has no grade of its own, and each mod's result counts in that mod's grade.
8 mods send something about you
We read the code of 275 of its 278 mods, without running it.
Why we show this: a modpack runs the code of its mods, and a mod can send things about you over the internet, like your player name or your login. Contacting an address to check for updates or download files sends nothing about you. Not in the grade: sending data can be normal for what a mod does.
AI named in 19 of the 237 mods we checked
We found an AI tool named in them, or their authors declare AI content.
41 mods are not checked yet.
1 mod can use AI in the game.
No sign so far that AI was used to make the pack itself
We looked for AI tools in its texts and found none.
We have not read its files and images yet.
Why we show this: some players and servers avoid projects made with AI, and AI in the game can send what you write to an online service. Not in the grade: using AI does not tell whether a project works well or is kept up to date.
